GEM (Green Eco-Manufacture) is an industry leading Chinese high-tech business specialized in the field of resource recovery and recycling. Since its founding in 2001, GEM has focused on “urban mining”, or the practice of recycling e-waste, used batteries, and various types of cobalt and nickel scraps, recycling an annual total of 500,000 tons. GEM’s activities in waste material recovery have produced an annual output of over RMB 50 million; products include: super-fine cobalt and nickel powder; refined cobalt & nickel salts; wood-plastic-composites; etc. GEM operates five large-scale industrial Eco-parks and three WPC factories in southeast China; together these facilities occupy a total area of 198 acres. Additionally, the company also owns one national accreditation testing center and two provincial R&D centers.
