晋江市

Jinjiang is a county-level city of Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, China, located along the coast of Southeast China, faces the Western Taiwan Straits Economic Zone and is a bridgehead of cross-Straits cooperation. The city is home to nearly two million residents and is renowned for its highly active entrepreneurial sector and the significant presence of foreign companies. The city’s industrial structure is an innovative balance of the tradition and the emerging, ranging from textile and garment manufacturing to heavy manufacturing and food production to high-tech industries. The city also features a wide range of service industries.

The City’s membership in the Alliance comes as the City is increasing its push towards reforming its economic structure to include a focus on low-carbon industries to ensure the increasing sustainability of its economy as it expands. Representatives of the WALCC were introduced to the City’s committed efforts in supporting sustainability when they visited the city in July 2015.

An action learning and research project conducted by Aalto University and the University of Tampere which aimed to form a better understanding of the architectural requirements for successful innovation projects.
