The World Alliance for Low Carbon Cities, together with our co-organizers the China Britain Business Council and the Confucius Institute of the University of Edinburgh, is pleased to announce that the former Prime Minister of the UK the Rt Hon Gordon Brown will address the WALCC’s next Forum, Sustainable Silk Roads, held in Edinburgh, Scotland October 4-5, 2017.

The central theme of the Forum will be China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The BRI, outlined by China’s President Xi Jinping, is the most significant investment and development program in modern times. Cumulatively, it is, without doubt, the largest contract in the world. The Rt Hon Gordon Brown will provide the Forum with his unique geopolitical perspective on the continued development and influence of Asia and China on global trade.

Join us in Scotland for the country’s first major conference on the world’s largest economic development initiative and assess what impact the BRI will have in business, in academia, in policy making – and on the world.

It will run over two days in the University of Edinburgh’s iconic McEwan Hall.
